Bombay Cafe & Capelettis

This past week we tried two new restaurants. Both of which were great.  They are both family ran, which means they are open at super weird hours. We tried to go to Capelettis  about 4 times now and they were always closed.  But we finally caught them when they were there.  We took Darian and Geoffrey with us.  All of our food was great.  It was very expensive if its not a special occasion. 20 dollar plates. The waitress was very slow.  We were there over 2 hours.  It was very classy and cute inside. Geoffrey made best friends with the bus boy (they both understood the pain of braces). I would definitely go back for like a birthday or a date ;) or I will be completely broke. I got the seafood pasta by the way and it was fabulous. Oh and their salad dressings were home made. Elli hates vinegar but she ate her whole salad covered in raspberry vinaigrette. I think deep down she really likes some of  my "gross" favorite foods.

The next Restaurant we tried was Bombay Cafe. Indian food. Our Neighbor Bryce was talking it up one day so we thought we would try it.  It looked a little sketchy when we first got there, however, there were some really attractive men sitting at a table when we walked in so we really had no choice but to stay. I ordered what hot man number one suggested.  He made a good choice. They make every order right as you order it so its very fresh.  They curry was so yummy.  It was pretty spicy and I still loved it.  Elli also really loved this place.  I think she was surprised as well at how good it actually was. She got lamb and it was so good.  I am excited to go back and try more of their menu.  They are only open like 4 hours a day though. lunch and dinner and closed in between.  Capelettis is also that way.  We had a successful week this week and weren't disappointing with either new finds.

Red Ginger

Tonight we decided to go to Red Ginger.  You see we really love sushi... and when you have sushi 50% off, well there's just no other choice. However we had already tried Red Ginger when it first opened about 6 months ago. We loved it cause it was cheap sushi, however the employees didn't speak english... and they very frequently forgot about us.  The breaking point was when they forgot to put seaweed in our sushi rolls... we didn't go back after that tragic event.... anywho they have a new manager!!! so it's considered a new restaurant, right? right! they were really fast, the service was great.
The sushi is still half off. =D the pot stickers were freshly made for us and the sushi was a thousand times better. We got way too much, as shows in the picture.  I couldn't be in it because I looked like a hobo so Elli did her best impression of me. ha ha ha.We even got fortune cookies, wahoo =) mine told me I would soon be respected and Elli's fortune told her help will soon come her way and not to fight it.  we kind of believe in the whole universe and horoscope type stuff so it's great. And the best is yet to come... They now deliver, Win. We liked this restaurant.

L&L Hawaiian BBQ

Unfortunately I had a really exciting blog for you guys to read and it deleted due to some sort of internet problems =( 1st world problems... I'll try to recreate it... Anywho, we got a new phone book!!! excited right? right... except now our work load has increased... going at the rate of 1-2 restaurants a week in approximately 2 years we might be finished with our adventure, keep in mind that new restaurants might appear but we will continue to eat our money and adventure on. This week we tried L&L Hawaiian BBQ. I was not disappointed. I was actually very pleased. I got garlic shrimp and Elli got Teryaki chicken. And check it out, my meal in front of me there <<< was under 300 calories and filled me up all the way till dinner, faaabulous right? The service was fast, they were pretty slow. The lady was really cute.  It was kind of pricey for a casual fast food place. My meal was $9 but I did get shrimp... This restaurant is probably worth trying atleast once =) one more off the list.

Bear Paw

I am terrible. It has been a week since we enjoyed Bear Paw, and I am now just blogging it. Breakfast is something we haven't even thought about doing yet.  The coffee was great =) I only tried some Jamaican stuff though and to tell you the truth I am not really a coffee expert and I put the same amount of creamer as I do coffee, it's fabulous. It's on main street, main street has never failed us. All the restaurants on this street are great, Elli still needs to try a few so we can count them. The service was good, not anything out of the ordinary though.  I got a really delicious omelet and the hash browns were good.  I did not like my biscuit, George's corner and Black Bear both win in that area for sure.  We will go to those restaurants soon.  That is how this works, we both have to go in order to count and blog the restaurant. I have never had quiche... Elli got it and it was better than my omelet =) I will get it next time.  The man next to me got crepes, I thought it would be a little weird to ask if I could share them so I refrained my desire but... they looked insanely good. We really liked this restaurant and would recommend it =]

Buca Di Beppo

So...  after a long three weeks me and Elli have finally been reunited.  Therefor we had no choice but dinner =D Italian was decided  and we ended u at buca di beppo. Overall we were not really impressed =/ it was alright.   It's a family place so the meals are not made for single dishes and we had to share.  Elli is picky and so she had to eat what I picked cause she is too nice =P anyhow we got some chicken something that had barely any chicken.  also the music was terrible. We don't really like opera........ but I guess if you're into that kind of stuff. however, our waitress was the best waitress we have had out of all the restaurant's we have visited.  We believe in tipping based on the service, she got a good tip. It was her first day too! she was a sweetheart.  It was kind of pricey... Elli says she won't go back. I love Italian so maybe I would try something different next time. The decorations were also way too much and we got lost on our way out, but again if you really like the whole thing you might love this restaurant. Nothing beats the pasta factory though, it didn't even come close. one more checked off the list.

Arnestas

Because Elli is leaving me for two weeks, on a cruise... to Alaska... we decided we must try a new place for dinner tonight. Elli's burrito was huge! and delicious. We even think they accidentally put cinamon in it... thats why it was so delicious.  Mine was not.  elli says what can you expect when you order a spinach mushroom chimichanga.  she had a point.  However, bella maria's chimichanga was so delicious. The beans were not good. Overall it's hard to tell.... I was not impressed but Elli loved it.  The service was good and the prices were normal. Maybe a different day I should try something more delicious.

Patio Grill

Mckena: Because Elli got a new phone with an awesome camera she takes all the pictures.... I will take a picture of her next time so it doesn't look like I am eating out alone every night =) anyhow I would like to dedicate this blog to Marci....
Elli: I noticed that Mckena writes all the blogs and is in every picture so, I decided I would write at least 1 of the 200 posts to prove I actually participated. But I would like to thank our #1 fan Marci for introducing us to the Patio Grill. We had never heard of it before and I've decided it is one of my favorite places in St. George. It is a cute place where you get to choose whether to eat inside or out. The waitresses are really nice and personable. On the weekends they have a seafood broil where they steam a bunch of crab and shrimp and pour it on the table for you to eat. It was awesome. It was so good I didn't even have to put any seasonings on my food to make it better. It blew my mind! I loved it, but if at all possible I think Kena loved it even more.
We recommend this restaurant to everyone! They have seafood, sandwiches, burgers, EVERYTHING!

Grand Slam

as we all know Thursday was the 4th of July, Independence day, but more importantly my birthday =) In honor of this we decided we would get all the free food we could collect.  Awesome idea right?  So we began with a free grand slam from Denny's, the first, right at midnight.  After we finished we would go to the other denny's and get another one. By the end of the day we will have had at least 4 of them... for free! However we forgot to take into account that we would be way to full to eat to grand slams in a row........ anyhow our waitress was chasady, and to be honest she was the best waitress we have ever had on our late night denny runs.  Usually they forget about us or never
bring the check, somtimes they are really mean, which is understandable I guess.  Anyhow we ate our food fast and happily. Just another ordinary grand slam. When we woke up a couple hours later we decided instead of a grand slam we would go to kneeders for all you can eat french toast, the second restaurant of today.  IT was so delicious, of course.  They were slammed because of the holiday but we still enjoyed our meal and got it reasonably fast. To this day we can still never eat more than 2 pieces... Next we had it all planned, we'd go to lunch then another grand slam, however we were too full all the way till dinner, ha ha. WE did stop by for my free shake from Iceberg though... they don't do that anymore, I was so sad but Elli's ice cream cone was huge and great as always. Next we got Papa Murphies for our little birthday party.  Chicken Garlic always myfavorite. We love it. They never disappoint us.  And for our final stop we got an ice cream cake from baskin robins.  They make great cakes.  Because I worked at Dairy Queen and made the cakes there I couldn't help but love them best.  Elli likes the Baskin Robin ones because they have real cake too, she wins. But they are more expensive... Over all the day was great even though we didn't try anything new or visit a billion restaurants as planned. It ended with good food and great people, and fireworks =)

Red Lobster

Today Our meal was prepared for us by Red Lobster.  Because it's a pretty common restaurant you'd have thought I would have been there... but nope.  It was so delicious. I think it it was my favorite out of all the restaurants we have been to yet.  I love sea food.  My Salmon was so delicious and there cheese biscuit things... I think I ate twenty.  Elli barely touched her food while I feasted.  However she swears she ate a lot more than I did.  Especially since I couldn't eat my salad. I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and I am a little strong headed.  I think I can do what I want. sadly salad is way to hard to chew and I have to open my mouth to wide.  Therefor, my salad was not eaten.  The coconut shrimp with pinacolada sauce was fabulous, I think I will just get a giant platter and eat it for my whole meal next time.  The service was very good and fast. Mainly because it was so slow, I think there was only 3 people in there. The manager also greeted us and got us our water, she was very friendly. Elli thinks she was just bored but I like to think she just had awesome customer service. we chose a good day and time I suppose. It is pretty expensive though so not a weekly outing if your watching the pocket book.

Last night me and Elli died our hair, so naturally we had to do our hair and get all pretty to match our now cute hair.  Afterwards we sat in our living room (with nothing to do). quickly we knew what had to happen! another restaurant, it's our duty to our blog followers ;) however we were not sure where to go and it was 9:30 so everywhere was closing.  We ended up at the above, Casa Dona Maria Mexian Grill.  A friendly man opened the door for us and they sat us quickly.  It was just adorable inside.  While we waited we got to watch baseball! wahoo. The tv was huge so if we were baseball fans it would have been great! the men were cute though =D The salsa and chips were very good.  I got the special because I like to do that when I haven't a clue the menu. It was a mushroom chimichanga ... dunno how to spell that but it's phonetically correct. Elli's burrito was alright, she doesn't like lime and it had a lime sauce, I liked it! the beans and rice were better than Paula's! I think we liked it better. mmmm...  The waitress was also better than the one at Paula's.  The price was about the same.  We would definitely go back again. Success.

Ahi's Taste of Asia

Tonight We had a taste of Asia, at Ahi's.  It's hidden on riverside drive over by the car dealerships and hotels. We were greeted by a sweet old lady who gave us a break down of the menu.  She told me her favorite so I went with it.  It was delicious  =) cranberry plum stir fry stuff on brown rice. Elli got some Mongolian stir fry.  Her's was also good. not as good as mine.  She would argue, however she did think it had too many vegetables. Silly Elli, vegetables are the best part. The service was great, and fast! we were in and out in no time. Also we could refill our own cups... nobody taking them and refilling them int he back or darkness, who knows what goes on back there. This restaurant was pretty decent, I think we might just go back =)

Pirate Cove

Today Elli and I decided to go to Made in Brazil, turns out it did not exist =( so we went to Pirate Cove.   The atmosphere was pretty cool, but we kept hoping for the waiters to be pirates... They were not.  Our waiter was actually kind of invisible. however, he did show up for the money and assumed me and Elli were dating; which is alright I guess it was definitely my turn for the bill.  However we are as straight as can be.  We chose the pizza bar which we thought would be a great idea! IT also wasn't a good idea, most all you can eat pizza bars have more than 3 choices.  When they brought the new pizza out we were a little bit happier.  Papa Murphy's is much better, and cheaper too =D  Elli thought the salad bar was great, and she doesn't even like salad (this was due to the small amount of lettuce and extreme amount of ham and cheese I believe).  At the end of our meal we decided we needed a desert, so we got some cinnamon crumble stuff.  Not worth it.  The barely present waiter so kindly lied to us when we asked if it was good.  I also learned a lesson from elli, "never trust silverware in dark restaurants." Turns out we were also drinking from a dirty pitcher all lunch...  But.... The arcade was fun! we spent 8 dollars and got eye patches, we even flirted with the cute man taking our tickets. We probably won't be returning for the pizza, or to return the really nice pen we stole while signing the bill. Another restaurant off the list!

Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Elli found a cute little cafe literally right up the road from us.  So we had no choice but to try it out tonight.  The smoothies are fabulous and cheaper than Emerald Smoothie, wahoo! They are sweetened with Turbinado instead of sugar,  sounds healthy to me =)  I got a wrap that I probably would not get again, not worth 7 bucks.  However Elli's sandwich was really delicious.  Oh and the smoothies were hhhuge! so they were worth the money. the girl who helped us was super cute and friendly, we decided we should probably be her friend but didn't know how to approach that in an unawkward way so we decided we would think how to be better at making friends.  We also saw multiple attractive men walk in (and in the drive through)  Which means it's definitely a great hangout place.  We will probably return for the smoothies!

Ah'sya

The very first place we actually tried when we decided we needed to taste new things was Ah'sya.  It's a Vietnamese restaurant hidden behind Texas Roadhouse. It's delicious. We were so pleased we have actually cheated and gone to this restaurant more than once, before we have even tried all the other ones in St. George.  I have never tasted Vietnamese food so it was a refreshing new change.  They put mint and peanuts in almost every single dish.  It's similar to Thai food. There egg rolls and spring rolls are soooo good.  However, Elli hated the spring rolls, keep in mind she does not like most things ;) especially vegetables.  the fried rice is her favorite, I'd have to agree it is very good.  After eating the food I feel completely satisfied and not too full or disgusted like many restaurants.  The man who owns it does everything himself.  He is very fast and waits on every table, I have never seen another waiter or waitress. Hes super friendly and  makes top quality food for his customers.

Paula's Cazuela

Today we went to Paula's! we knew exactly where it was. We thought ;) but... we ended up turning a street to soon and adventured through a cute little neighborhood with all kinds of Chinese gnomes in their yards. Eventually we found it, and we are glad we did. The salsa is the perfect hotness for me (i'm a whimp when it comes to hot things) and super tasty even for Elli who likes things on fire.  The food was delicious =D we'd have to rate it better than Cafe Rio and similar in price range. Our waiter was really nice and they were very fast. I got Fajita's which we agreed were better than Elli's choice, Paula's special Burrito. Next time she will get chicken.  We didn't finish our food cause there was so much and left over Mexican food is no bueno. But we had more than enough.  The waitress got a good tip and we were on our way.   I think I recognized the hostess, and she acted a little bit like she knew me and wish she didn't. However, Elli thinks she just isn't a very friendly person. One more checked off the list.
This all started with the phonebook. who would have known that all the restaurants are all conveniently located in one spot, the phonebook. It is actually used occasionally in this Google ruled world ;) Elli had a great idea, le'ts try every single restaurant we have never been to, is around 250... minus 50.  I, Mckena, was quickly convinced.  And so we start our Journey... slowly ofcourse, since we are poor college students (this could take a very long time). Anyhow, because we are taking the time to try all of them we decided we must share with the world =)
